Tiger Woods Crushed By Y. E. Yang
Tiger Woods went into the final round of a major with a 2 stroke lead. Tiger was 8-0 when leading a major after 54 holes and would surely get Y. E. Yang to crumble as he had P. Harrington just a week earlier in the final round. Tiger Woods would walk away with his 15th major championship in pursuit of 18, then 19 to break the record.

John Mathew Shippen Jr.
African American golfer, John Mathew Shippen Jr., was born on December 5, 1879. Shippen was the fourth of nine children and was from Long Island, NY. As a youngster, John Shippen worked as a caddy at the course at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and was taught to play by the club's Scottish professional Willie Dunn.

Tiger Woods has done much to make golf more popular in the African American community, but he is not the first African American to swing the club.
